"What if... the Doctor was a masked man?"

Starring El Hijo Del Pertwee as the Doctor

With Rebecca Front as Verity Lambert

and Conrad Westmaas as Sydney Newman

With aged actor William Hartnell cast in the starring role of her new series, "Doctor Who", teenage producer Verity Lambert is beginning to have cold feet about his longevity. After many nights of soul searching and drinking in lowly Mexican bars she finds the perfect solution.

"Sydney, I've got it."

"Hit me, Veri."

"After a few years we can replace Billy Hartnell. Then his age doesn't matter."

"Dammit, woman, you can't just change what he looks like without the audience smelling rats."

"You can - there is just one way. Our hero - the Doctor - always wears a mask. Then we can get a new guy in and no one will know."

"My god that's brilliant."

"If it works and we get away with it we can give the new fellow a different coloured mask after a few months. Then, when colour television comes in, a different one with every actor. Fans can discuss whether their favourite was the Red Doctor or the Blue Doctor or the classic Silver Doctor."

"What does Bill have to say about this?"

Will the Doctor go through the centuries with a glittery mask on?

Or will it be the end of everything?
