Wham! to reform - Exclusive
The
popular music world is shaking in its rafters at the shock news that top
1980s band Wham! are to reform. A spokesman for Wham! announced the news
at a specially configured news conference.
"I am pleased to announce that top 1980s band Wham! are
to reform" he said, raising his voice above the howls of protest emanating
from the world's press. "This will be the most exciting thing to happen to
music since sliced bread."
Doubts were raised when an investigative journalist from
Smash Hits mentioned that George "Criminal Record" Michael recently
announced his intention to quit popular music.
"It is true that George Michael will not be part of the
reformed Wham!" conceded the spokesman, "but the remaining part of Wham!
will be back and raring to go like musical tigers released from a trap."
"Does this mean that it will just be Andrew Ridgely?"
asked a representative of musical godfather Andi Peters.
"It will be Wham! just as they always were but with one
minor change in personnel" explained the spokesman. "The shorts will be as
tight and the stubble will be as manly. Don't think of it as losing a
front man with talent, see it as ditching a wanking poof. Andrew will
rock."
The latest Wham! album will be in the shops at some
point. Dear Christ I hope it isn't.
Andrew Ridgely was unavailable for comment when we asked
him but the manager of the petrol station where he works said "I'll hold
his job open for a couple of months, just in case."
