Rap Star in New Town Controversy

Top America rap star Masta B8R has found himself embroiled in a mass of controversy in the aftermath of the wake of the release of his latest album "Killin' Time Killin' Copz". The multimillionaire music star - real name Ashley Kipperstein - spent the bulk of the album dealing with what his management describe as "relevant social issues" such as casual sex, hard drugs and violence in such songs as "I'm Fuckin' Hoes All Night Long", "Do Me Crack Whore Do Me" and "Cop Killin' NiIggaz Shootin' and Fuckin' in Da Hood". However, it was during a song entitled "Yo Nigga - Thatz Ma Ho" that Mr B8R launched into what has been described as an "unwarranted" and "wholly untrue" attack on the Hertfordshire town of Stevenage.

"It is an outrage that our good name is being slurred by this singer" said Stevenage Councillor Bryan Tupperware. "We work long and hard to promote this town only for a pop star to come along and undo it."

Masta B8R issued a statement from his $7million luxury private ghetto located in an exclusive suburb of Beverly Hills.

"It was never my intention to cause any distress to the people of Stevenage. If I've inadvertently done any damage to either the people or the intellectual property of Stevenage then I am deeply sorry."

"It is certainly a positive first move for Mr B8R to apologise unreservedly like this" continued Councillor Tupperware, "but I think a gesture of good faith such as offering to start our annual charity fun run is the next step. We would also welcome a song on his next album extolling the virtues of Stevenage."

"The Stevenage Leisure Park, the Ridlins Athletics Stadium and no fewer than three golf courses."

"I'll see what I can do" said Masta B8R when we told him of Councillor Tupperware's demands, "but there ain't shit that rhymes with Stevenage."
