It's back. Last year wasn't the greatest
success as I think I only enjoyed one out of the five I sat through but
I'm game if nothing else. Maybe this year will buck the trend and
reignite my love of stand up comedy. There seem to be more DVDs out than
ever before to rent, borrow or buy so there must be some that achieve at
least a smile on my miserable old face.

I've realised that I don't like stand up
comedy any more. There are odd exceptions - the thought of Eddie Izzard's
new DVD makes me more excited than anything up to (but not including) a Dr
Alice lads mag shoot - but for the most part the love I used to have for
people standing on stage and being funny has gone. In an effort to find it
again, I've decided to watch as many of 2009's Christmas-market-cash-in
DVDs as I can rent, borrow or even purchase. Even if I don't think I'll
like it, I'll give it a go. Somewhere, out there, there must be someone
that can make me like stand up comedy again. Isn't there? |
