**WARNING** This episode – "Death of the Moon Man" – will contain spoilers. Do not read if you don’t want to know what happens.
We open with a reprise of the Big Fight™ in which Krog and Commando Cody met their demise.
The two hoodlums ask each other what they should do now that their boss and their enemy are both as dead as soap. Retick chimes in via the medium of radio. He tells them to carry out Krog’s plan. But wait! SWERVE~! Commando Cody is still alive.
He wanders round the cave looking for things to steal. He eventually finds a ray gun.
But he leaves it behind, preferring to take only a pistol and his dignity. Meanwhile, back at Cody’s top secret laboratory…
Cody is reporting to the greasy guy. He bangs off some explanation about the amount of metal in his flying suit stopping him from being electrocuted to death and fills in the GGG about Krog, Retick and the plan to invade the moon. His lab seems to have a price list on the back wall. I wonder how much fried egg on toast is?
They formulate a plan. Cody shows he’s saved his worst delivery for the final chapter. What a pro.
The phone rings. Cody looks down but doesn’t answer, Ted looks down but doesn’t answer. The womanly Joan proves her worth by answering the phone and passing it to Cody. It is the barman from the café.
The two hoodlums have met up with two other hoodlums and are having tea together in a nefarious way.
Cody interrupts their little tête-à-tête-a-tête-à-tête with his trusty pistol and the charismatic Ted. Smell the testosterone.
Ted searches the hoodlums. Or rather he searches one hoodlum, finds a gun, confiscates it and decides that’ll be enough to avoid trouble. A fight breaks out.
Cody and Ted lose yet again.
A car chase ensues. Again.
This one has a twist at the end. Cody manages to hit the proverbial cow with the proverbial banjo and the two hoodlums fly off the road, down a cliff…
…and explode to death.
Cody and Ted reach the late Krog’s cave. Two stout government chaps have the ray gun on the back of a truck. Cody and Ted go into the cave to investigate. Meanwhile, Retick is pacing up and down while his beanpole sidekick sits on a bench.
Retick sends lanky to see if the hoodlums have arrived yet. Instead, he finds Cody and Ted. A gun battle breaks out.
The beanpole is eventually shot to death by the good guys.
Retick hears the trouble and flees for his private rocket ship.
Don’t adjust your sets – Cody is bathed in smoke as Retick’s rocket motors have been fired. Obviously, no human being could survive being right under a rocket motor as it prepares to launch but Commando Cody is not… oh wait, yes he is.
Retick escapes. Obviously the moon man referenced in the title was the skinny one. What a swiz.
"He’s getting away in his rocket – let’s get to the truck" shouts Cody. Taken in isolation that is the dumbest line in the entire serial. They reach the ray gun while Retick is still in range.
They take aim, fire…
…and Retick is blown to smithereens.
And that’s it. The four principle goodies meet for one final time in Cody’s top secret laboratory. The GGG explains that Retick’s death means there won’t be an invasion from the moon.
The serial ends with a hilarious comedy routine.
