Episode Sixteen 6th December 1978
Reggie sets about training his staff, which now includes his brother in law Jimmy, and expands Perrins by buying up his neighbours' properties. Eventually, they are ready to deal with their guests - only to find that they have just one, and they must hide the fact that he is their only guest...
"...by having green frogs thrust down my crotch" "...by changing nappies" "...without recognising a man who doesn't pull his weight" "...without recognising a mighty fine residence when I see one" "...by telling undertakers from anyone else"
The commune will start after three months of training the staff. Reggie plans to hold group sessions every morning with their guests to discuss any problems. Jimmy will be the Leader of the Expeditionary Force. The commune is soon composed of five houses. McBlane is hired as the chef when Elizabeth protests that she can't do the cooking and be secretary. The first guest, Mr Babbacombe, is an undertaker.
Joan remarks that Tony won't "get his oats" while under canvas - his response is "Crudesville, Arizona!". Both David and Prue give a "Super!" to each other's suggestions during a training meeting. When Reggie asks him how Culture is coming along, Tony responds "Knockout!". There's another "Knockout!" and "Good News City, Arizona!" when Reggie informs him that they will have five houses soon and will be able to leave the tents. Two more Knockouts follow, one of them when he is disguised as an Indian. When Tom suggests playing football with no aggression, we get a "Knockout!" and a "Super!" for his idea. When he is picked to pretend to be a guest, David utters an unenthusiastic "Super!".
"...pulling my own weight person" When he is disguised as an Indian, Tom points out that "I am very much a house purchasing person".
"...barge front" - when Jimmy and Reggie run aground! "...judgement of men front" "...memory front" - when Jimmy forgets that he's the Doc!
Doc still lusts after Joan! Reggie lives at Number 19, Mrs Hollies at Number 17 and Mr Penfold at Number 21. Jimmy refers back to the events of Lofty scarpering with all the weapons and money (Episode 13), and reveals that his back has caused him problems since D-Day - when he got hurt playing rounders at school.
