Episode Fifteen 29th November 1978
Reggie and Elizabeth soon tire of their new identities and aimless wandering, and return to suburbia, selling their house and Grot. After seeing an altercation at the bank one day, Reggie decides to set up a commune, where people can live in peace and happiness. With a new property purchased to house it, he sets about recruiting his staff - consisting of family members and his old Sunshine Desserts/Grot colleagues...
When Elizabeth asks Reggie what type of community they should aim for, Reggie sees them as Indians outside a wigwam, and shortly after as members of the Hare Krishna.
"...by being nice" "...without recognising a rib-tickling play on words when I hear one" C.J. is first seen busking at a cinema queue - he can be heard singing something beginning with "I Didn't Get...". He tells Reggie that "absence is better than a cure". C.J. tells Reggie that Grot was a mad idea. Reggie offers C.J. a £10K salary, with free food and board (in a tent in the back garden!). Mrs C.J. will be sent off to Luxembourg to stay with friends - she hasn't seen C.J. since the demise of Grot.
Perrins will be a cross between a commune and a self-help therapy centre, where people can stay for as long as they like and pay as much as they like. It will be for the middle aged and middle classed. Elizabeth will be the secretary, Doc the psychologist, Tom will look after sport, Joan music (at which Tony describes her as stone deaf), Tony culture ("Knockout!"), Prue Old English Crafts ("Super!"), C.J. will be responsible for work, Linda Art and David sex (he faints).
Tony thinks that a community is a great idea - "Knockout!". He tells Reggie that this is "Success City, Arizona!". Reggie offers him a £5K salary - "This is cards on the tableville, Arizona!". Tony has been working as a salesman for UniWarm Central Heating. David is married to Prue and they have a young son named Reggie. They think that a community would be "Super!", and wear matching clothes. There are two more joint "Supers!" as they respond to Reggie's idea.
"...charity person", "...sport person" "...joke person". Tom keeps calling Elizabeth "mother-in-law", and says that even when he's wildly excited, he looks lugubrious. Tom is out of work, and hasn't found any further jobs in advertising.
Early in the episode, Reggie quickly recounts the plot of the first two series to Elizabeth. Doc Morrissey has been giving English lessons, though he only has one pupil. He describes himself as the worst Doctor in England.
