Episode Thirteen

26th October 1977

Tired of the empire that he has unwittingly created, Reggie tries to destroy Grot by employing incompetent people in roles that they should be totally unsuitable for. Unfortunately, his plan backfires and Grot becomes even more successful! So Reggie tries to sack each of the new employees, but for various reasons finds himself unable to. Reggie decides that the only course of action left is to start behaving eccentrically...

Reggie mentions in a staff meeting that "someone" said that "I didn't get where I am today by having Irish labourers promoted over my head", at which C.J. looks rather guilty.

When Reggie says that they have built a fleet of super lorries, David exclaims "Super!" and shortly after Tony exclaims "Great!".

Reggie tells his cat, Ponsonby, that he opened Grot as a last defiant gesture to the world. He mentions that Elizabeth didn't think that Grot would be a success at first. He hires Doc Morrissey as his Head of Forward Planning. Irish labourer Seamus Finnegan is the new Admin Officer (complete with a £10K salary, company car and luncheon vouchers). Tom will be Head of Publicity and Jimmy will be Head of Creative Thinking. A Eurogrot Distribution Centre has been built in Luxembourg. Two newspaper headlines state that the Grot dividend is up 20% and that there are record profits for the rubbish chain.
