"Friday the 14th"

24th November 1983

Del has a fishy scheme going involving a hole in the salmon farm fence. But there’s a criminally insane mental patient on the loose, and it’s very dark outside…

Del has been visiting Mario’s fish restaurant. Boycie has a cottage in Cornwall near a salmon farm. And the number plate of the Trotter’s van is "DHV 3330".

Del is an expert at Monopoly!

"We see the gamekeeper when we arrive, and we pay him twenty five quid."
"What and he gives us a fishing permit?"
"No, he shows us a hole in the fence!"

"There’s a ruddy typhoid blowing out there!"
"No, it’s a typhoon."
"Good idea Rodney, put the kettle on!"

"He had these evil eyes, and this grotesque evil face."
"Perhaps it was a reflection."

and

"You’re alright…. It’s Barretts!"

Del’s overcoat. Rodney’s choice of undergarment is a bright yellow T-Shirt. Del’s flowery umbrella.

A practically continuity-free episode, which is why this column is so short! It’s funnier than I remember it, an above-average scare-a-thon with the comedy based on the Trotter’s reactions to the possibility of a crazed intruder. The best bit is Del’s joy at being able to beat the psychopath at invisible Snooker, but it does end rather suddenly. Harmless fun.
