"Christmas Trees" 27 December 1982
Del has a load of "advanced microchip" twenty first century fold-down Christmas trees to shift. And he’s not above using Rodney’s sense of festive charity to do it…
This episode was an eight minute Christmas Special, broadcast as part of a BBC Christmas show entitled "The Funny Side of Christmas".
"Raise de Chasez!"
Del sports the ‘flatcap and bodywarmer’ look.
Sid is running a mobile version of his café. Both Rodney and Grandad appear to hinder and help Del respectively, in his quest to offload the trees.
Grandad’s justification for why the flask of coffee he has brought Del is cold, is "I didn’t have time to make fresh coffee, I had to bring your flask to you." The Christmas tree lights flash but "aren’t supposed to". And Del thinks ethics are a firm that make model aeroplanes!
Almost as good as a "proper" episode, and a lost gem. Too bad David Jason won’t give this one up, it would have made a great DVD extra. |
