Doctor Who rips off a plan
from some writer or other

*** - I wasn't gripped during
it but that's enough about my loneliness, the story itself is as good as
studio based humorous mock classical drama with a balsawood horse gets

"They wouldn't have a problem

"That is a most immoral way of

Maureen O'Brian legally
changed her name to Cressida O'Brian after leaving Doctor Who which is why
no one could ever find her and give her lots of film and tv work.
Doctor Who has a long history
of credible romances where companions are concerned. No, really.
It’s easy to imagine why The
Doctor would be mistaken for Zeus – how many of us can honestly say we’ve
never thought William Hartnell was the type of man to come to Earth
disguised as a swan and ravish a woman ?
BBC Audience research
concluded that the serial was “A bit dull”, “Historically untenable”,
“Worthy of an invoice for the time I wasted watching it” and “a sign that
Dr Who has run out of steam”. Some people liked it though – one viewer
from Manchester said it was “Okay, daddio”.
Norman Wisdom mentioned it in
his autobiography and said “I laughed so much that I dribbled tea all down
my new cardigan. That rather spoilt the mood.”
The wooden horse used at the
hilarious climax of the story was a scale model and not, as was reported
at the time, the second biggest prop at the BBC (after Jimmy Edwards’
moustache.)

We regret that Mr Brent's amusing
anecdote has been delayed owing to him having left it on a train. Normal
service will be resumed once the Bendaton Rocket has returned from
Shagford (via Cymm, Vulva Vale and Frotmeigh-cum-Hardy).
