Mission to the Unknown

"Dalek Sketch", "Dalek Hint",
"Mark Cory Investigates"

"The One Without Doctor Who",
"Varga varga Bang-a-Bang" (Eurovision)

Doctor Who has the week
off.

*** - It sets the scene for
what is to come (just generally).

"Remember - one prick and your
whole life will change" / "Isn't that always the way ducky" (cut from
final script)

"These are the most hostile
pants in the universe"

William Hartnell played "Third
Tree" in the Kembel jungle
This episode features none of
the main cast as the first rehearsal lead to William Hartnell calling Sir
Peter Purves “A waddling git” and Purves replying that Hartnell was “a
gibbering pudding”. Fisticuffs followed and Maureen O’Brien ended up
getting hit on the head with a stuffed panda. The three were sent home
until “They learn to behave like grown ups” (quoted from a BBC memo from
the producer to head of serials).
This episode was viewed as a
pilot by the BBC for a possible spin-off series. However, it was not a
spin-off for a Marc Cory Show but rather a showcase for the Varga plants.
A rough plan was drawn up for the first season of The Varga Show (as it
was codenamed) and this was eventually produced under the name Meglos.
The title is a bit of a
misnomer as, for once, the lead characters had a vague idea what was
waiting for them when they arrived.
The leading Dr Who Personality
Test reports that anyone who insists on calling this “Dalek Cutaway” is
‘Borderline anal, tending towards a mistaken belief that behaving
abnormally equates proportionally with interest or personality”. They are
also statistically likely to be “short, old, bald and/or lonely”.

Si Hunt

Dennis Brent is on holiday this week.
Please contact SSS Agent Marc Cory for an amusing anecdote. He's not as
manly as Mr Brent but we're fairly sure he's not one of those
h-o-m-o-s-e-x-u-a-l-s.

If someone from this group came to work in your
office, would they be a Varga plant?
Another dangerous prick
