She had plenty of wooden moments for sure - but she does get away with it all for the glamour and good looks. Shallow but true!
we did a convention with Mary as a guest, I had the responsibility of looking after her for the day. She was an absolutely fabulous lady, a real laugh and really talkative and approachable. She even drank a pint of Guinness, which was a birrova surprise!

She's annoying - but in a different, nicer way to the way Michael Grade is annoying. A glamorous harridan.
She's annoying for trading off her moments of Doctor Who glory every time she's interviewed even though she really didn't seem to like being in Doctor Who.
