Editor's note - when Adventures Into Space
was commissioned for a second series there were certain conditions imposed
upon the production team. The main one was that the character of Carol
Richmond was felt not to be dynamic enough for the changing television
landscape of the mid 1960s. In her place, and with no explanation for
confused viewers, came Penny Danger - a character who showed her
Avengers-inspired roots. The series also expanded to fifty minute episodes
in line with its more adult appeal.
