Five years ago - November 2000

Video

The Cyber Tin - Tenth Planet and Attack of the Cybermen all wrapped up in a tin. It was released this way because we like boxed sets and not as a way of forcing people to buy Attack of the Cybs.

Did I buy it?

Yes - from WHS (partly using Club Card points)

Eighth Doctor Adventures

The Eighth Doctor places himself in the capable hands of Terrance Dicks.

Did I buy it?

I think so. I've got a huge stack of EDAs and PDAs and I'm never quite sure what I've got. The cover is familiar but I did use it in a banner so I might be thinking of that.

Past Doctor Adventures

It's a book by Keith Topping. He's obviously keen on it as "The King of Terror" is still his OG subtitle.

Did I buy it?

It sounds ok but I've never seen it before. I've got a lot of PDAs but I'm confident that isn't one of them.

Big Finish

The moment when Frobisher became an official companion. Also the birth of the legend that was to become Robert Shearman.

Did I buy it?

Yes - twice to be exact. Once on cassette and then later on CD when I upgraded my early collection. I keep this bit in because it's still true.

Fact Book

Can it really be five years since DJH and ATB released the book which tried its best to eliminate the potential bargains which made the fan-market what it was.

Did I buy it?

No - not then, not later, not ever.

DWM

Five years apart and both of this month's covers are Cybermen. This one includes a poster. A massive poster.

Did I buy it?

Yes but Cybermen aren't my second favourite monsters so the magazine lies. I may have cast this particular issue out for spreading untruth.

Email me if I've missed something interesting that came out during the month in question
