Eighth Doctor Adventures

The Doctor begins a long exile on Earth, minus a perky blonde and several butch soldiers. Arguably the boldest re-drawing of the series to date.

Did I buy it?

Yes but I haven't read it. £1.99 (possibly 4-for-3 too) and I did start it one afternoon.

Past Doctor Adventures

A late Davison adventure which I had no idea existed until I prepared this piece. Sounds a bit like Space 1889. Features Turlough and Kamelion.

Did I buy it?

No and I wouldn't be surprised if many did. Such was the hoopla about The Burning that it slipped under all but the keenest radar.

Big Finish

Daleks... President Romana... Evelyn on Gallifrey... a substance which sets the universe on fire... Daleks on Gallifrey... I don't know which is less appropriate on the cover - "original" or "drama". Either could've been replaced with "fantasy"

Did I buy it?

Yes - twice to be exact. Once on cassette and then later on CD when I upgraded my early collection.

DWM

That is one damn striking cover. But what is it about fire this month?

Did I buy it?

Yes but it obviously didn't have an impact as Imperial Moon was previewed and I missed it entirely.

BBC Radio Collection

A straight re-release of the early 90s cassette soundtrack to The Macra Terror

Did I buy it?

No - I bought the tapes when they came out but I have never got round to spending a tenner on something I haven't listened to in 13 years.

BBC Radio Collection

One of the first "new" stories to be released by the BBC Radio Collection. The new generation of releases are a huge improvement on their predecessors in terms of narration and restoration.

Did I buy it?

Yes but it has left very little impression.

Email me if I've missed something interesting that came out during the month in question
