The Basics - Issue 138, July 1988. The main photo on the front cover is of the Seventh Doctor and Ace.

News And Views - Star Paperbacks are to reprint two novelisations in one volume, starting with The Myth Makers/The Gunfighters and The Dalek Invasion of Earth/The Crusaders. Peter Haining's latest hardback due in Septermber is called 25 Glorious Years. Terry Nation and John Peel are collaborating on a new Dalek book, provisionally entitled The Official Doctor Who and the Daleks Book. The TARDIS Telephone as seen on the TV programme Surprise! Surprise! will be on sale in the summer, retailing at £100.

Notables - Andrew Pixley takes over the Archives and Fact File (still only one page at this stage) from this issue, beginning with The Moonbase. A new, relatively detailed Episode Guide debuts on the inside back cover, featuring one season per issue.

Boxpops - Top of the pop charts in July 88 were the continuing Bros and Nothing's Gonna Change My Love by Glenn Medeiros.

Skaro Says - Si Hart liked the cover photo of McCoy and Aldred. He found it quite reasuring at the time, as if they were going to make a great team - which they did! It took him forever to get the Dalek Invasion of Earth/Crusaders book. Jonno agrees that the cover is quite striking, including the bright yellow! He remembers liking having the Radio Times introduction to the first part of The Moonbase included with the Archive, and notes that Andrew Pixley begins his 16 year Archive voyage here! He also liked having reprints of letters from the Sun to go with the Season 14 two part flashback - which was so much better than the earlier Marson efforts - the Freeman era continues to gather pace!
