The
Basics - Issue 110, March 1986. The front cover has a photo of Sarah
Sutton, who is interviewed inside.
News And Views - Writers confirmed for the new
season are Philip Martin, with one of the two four-parters and Robert
Holmes, with a six-parter. Andrew Pixley writes in for the second month
running to congratulate DWM on the 1985 Winter Special, which he describes
as the finest issue yet. Another letter writer suggests that, as per issue
108, the magazine should go to 48 pages @ £1 permanently. He also hopes
that Colin Baker will get the chance to beat Tom Baker's 7 years as the
Doctor...
Reviews - Off The Shelf reviews The King's Demons -
"a splendid book and a refreshing new mode of writing."
Notables - There is a tribute to Valentine Dyall,
who passed away in 1985. At the end of the latest comic strip, Frobisher
reveals that he is stuck as a penguin from now on.
Boxpops - Top of the pop charts in March 86 were
the continuing Billy Ocean, Chain Reaction by Diana Ross and Living Doll
by Cliff Richard and The Young Ones.
Skaro Says - Craig Rollins believes that most of us
at the time had no reason to believe that Colin Baker couldn't beat Tom
Baker's 7 year run, with Colin not being to blame for the poorness of
Season 22. One of the letter writers in this issue's Matrix Data Bank
would become one of Si Hart's best friends a year or so later. Si also
notes that Frobisher's mono-morphia was dependent on the comic strip
writer. Jonno likens that to the TV production team's penchant for making
K9 break down so as to stop him being too powerful.
