"Fawlty Towers" Movie About to Hit Cinemas

Hollywood's fascination with all things produced by television in the decade fondly remembered as the "Seventies" continues as director Jeff Turban's multimillion dollar production "Fawlty Towers" prepares to premiere in London's exciting West End. The film, based on John Cheese's seminal classic hit sit com success "Fawlty Towers" starring John Cleese and Ballard Berkeley, is described by Turban as being "real true to the original, even down to the name."

The film will star the award winning Hugh Grant as "Basil Fawlty" - the owner of the fashionable seaside hotel. His loving wife Cybil will be played by the award winning Renee Zellweger.

"This is like so a dream part" said Ms Zellweger as she tried to remember whether she was currently gaining or losing weight. "I like watched erm... For-welty Towers... all the time when I was a kid and to play Cybil is like really neat."

Director Turban cast a relative newcomer, the award winning James Dreyfus (Gimme Gimme Gimme) as "Nigel" the hapless but lovable English waiter.

"Jeff felt that Manuel was an old fashioned character and might offend Hispanic Americans so made a few improvements and here I am!!!" enthused Dreyfus.

Rounding out the cast is the award winning Beyonce Knowles as "Polly" - a streetwise American waitress.

"Basically," continued Turban, "the plot revolves around the character of Basil as he tries to come to terms with being in love with a waitress despite the rigid British class system. When his wife tragically dies in labour he has to decide whether to bring up Basil Junior on his own or fight against the rigid British class system and confess his love for Polly."

Are there any Germans in it?

"American test audiences were unfamiliar with the concept of Germans so the film was re-emphasised without Germanic scenes."

Does Mr Turban have any plans to rape anymore British sit com classics?

"I've an idea for "Porridge" where Sandra Bullock is Fletcher - the only female in a British prison and fights against the prison's rigid policy of not admitting women even in the twenty first century.

Fawlty Towers opens next month and God save us.
